Is a revolution at SIAE on its way?

Welcome to Open Mic Rome!

If you’re under 30, then you’re lucky (maybe). As it seems the SIAE has decided to improve the current royalty taxation scheme in favour of younger artists.

The plans include:

  • Exemption from paying royalties to musicians under 30
  • 30%-50% discount off the SIAE tax to who organizes the event, in case the artists play their own original music

For now it remains unclear though when this is going to happen, and until there is an official statement with a clear date on it, you should take this announcement with a grain of salt.
